The 2019 Silverado 1500 comes with a bold exterior and impressive capabilities, and the 2019 model year now comes with added towing features. The Silverado towing features have been optimized thanks to a new myChevrolet® trailering app and the available Advanced Trailering System. Plus, the Trailering Camera Package helps extends the driver’s line of vision.
According to Chevrolet, the brand spoke with a whopping 7,000 customers in order to determine what people wanted most out of their truck. An overwhelming majority said they prioritized towing capacity.
Tim Herrick, executive chief engineer of Full-Size Trucks at General Motors, articulates the goal of the 2019 Silverado 1500 model’s updates. “Ultimately, these technologies serve to eliminate common pain points of towing and help provide customers with a less stressful experience while trailering.”
The Advanced Trailering System comes with Auto Parking Brake Assist, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, and Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring. Another cool feature is a trailering label, which helps you calculate the exact capacities that you can tow, from the gross vehicle weight rating to the curb weight.
